The aim
of the club is to encourage the appreciation and pratice of visual
arts and to meet for demonstrations by visiting experts. Members
are encouraged to work in a variety of media, to their own chioce
of subject matter and to take part in outdoor sketching trips.
Started in 1947 by a small group of artists, the club now has a
reputation as a leading Art Club in the North with over 120 enthusiastic
members.
Our exhibitions reflect the wide range of experience amongst our
members. The only requirement is an interest in Art. You do not
have to be a painter.
(Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of
each month between 7pm -9pm in Hartlepool Art Gallery, Church Square,
Hartlepool.)
